Working with Textured Hair

Cocoa and I had a blast filming this tutorial at our friend Jana Williams’ house in Los Angeles.

I wanted to show a quick way to calm frizz, and add wave at the same time.  Its important to be able to do quick tricks when you’re in a rush.  By braiding your hair, you are reducing the amount of heat you are using by 1/3, because only the outer parts of the braid get touched by the iron.  I recommend trying this on damp hair as well on for anyone that wants to stop using heat.

Here is one of my favorite flat irons, its made by Hsi Professional.  Its a $300 Flat iron on sale on Amazon.com for $50! It also comes with a free bottle of Argan Oil to condition your hair!

If you’re trying to improve the quality of your hair, its important to invest in quality tools! They’re quicker, gentler, and more effective on your hair!

Hello Daven! I really enjoy your work and the way you explain everything simply.

WordPress won’t let me log on and ask you a question, so I hope you’ll see it here.

Is it possible to do Kate Beckett like big waves/curls quickly (for an every day work look) and without too much heat/product (again, everyday. I don’t want to damage my hair).

    Thank you so much!
